The world of golf was shaken to its core recently. The reason? The PGA Tour and LIV Golf decided to put their problems firmly behind them and turned their respective attentions towards unifying the sport. However, this isn’t the only development that rocked the golfing world recently. In August 2022, two of golf’s immortals, Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy announced TGL, a new golf league, in collaboration with the PGA Tour. The TGL’s first season is slated to get going in January 2024. As it turns out, power couple Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian will play a prominent part in the TGL.

Over the last few hours, the couple had been teasing followers regarding a potential foray into the world of golf. However, they didn’t reveal any specifics. Now the cat’s out of the bag, and Ohanian has revealed that the couple has invested in a team that will participate in the TGL. What’s more? Williams and Ohanian’s investment will see their 5-year-old daughter Olympia becoming a co-owner of yet another sports franchise. The cherry on top of Williams and Ohanian’s cake is that it doesn’t stop with Olympia.

Ever since Serena Williams decided to pull the curtains down on her incredible tennis career in 2022, she has focused solely on her family and business ventures. Her latest venture involves purchasing the first of the six teams that will make up the TGL. The team, called Los Angeles Golf Club, will see Williams and Ohanian branching out from soccer into another international sport.

Ohanian confirmed the couple’s groundbreaking move through a tweet. In his tweet, Ohanian didn’t just confirm his role in making Los Angeles Golf Club a reality. He also announced that daughter Olympia would be a co-owner as well.

The tech entrepreneur and investor’s move to rope in 5-year-old Olympia as a co-owner is a record maker and a record breaker at the same time. The most amazing thing is that the record it breaks is the very record Olympia made not so long ago. Furthermore, Ohanian also revealed that his and Williams’ unborn baby will also be among the co-owners of the team.

Olympia breaks her own record she made three years ago

2020 witnessed young Olympia becoming the youngest co-owner in the history of professional sports. The decision, which came from Williams and Ohanian, propelled Olympia to worldwide stardom. It made her the co-owner of NWSL team Angel City FC, which Ohanian and Williams have stakes in as well.

However, once Williams and Ohanian’s second child is born, Olympia will have to give away one of her records. The fact is that as soon as Olympia’s sibling is born, her record of being the youngest co-owner in sports history will be shattered. Only time will tell if parents Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian let her hold on to the record she broke to become the youngest co-owner of two sports teams simultaneously.
