However, in a recent podcast appearance, the 42-year-old expressed her concerns about trying new sports that could cause her a serious injury. Venus, who is in the twilight of her incredible career, now believes that playing a sport like golf can be tough and frightening.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion created a name for herself in the tennis world along with her sister Serena Williams. Earlier this year, the younger Williams sister retired from the sport. However, the soon to be 43 Venus is still active in the professional circuit and recently talked about slowing down for the time being.

Venus Williams wants to play golf, but is afraid of hurting herself!
The two-time US Open champion was recently invited to appear as a guest on the podcast ‘Golf, Mostly’, where she discussed numerous aspects of her life, her desire to play golf, and what prevented her from doing so. Venus Williams, who has won seven Grand Slam singles titles and 14 doubles major titles, believes that tennis is not for everyone and can be tough sometimes. Considering her injury-ridden past few years, Venus revealed her fear of trying sports like golf and sustaining serious injuries.

She said, “Tennis isn’t for everybody. I mean, I wish I could play golf. So literally no skills and I am afraid of hurting myself and I am afraid of getting out there breaking my back literally trying to hit a ball. I am frightened. Now I started swinging and I slow down like decelerating. I am so nervous I am gonna tweak gunny or hip and just can’t get injured one more time.”

Venus’ long struggle with leg problems
In the past few years, Venus’ performances have been limited due to her injuries. Last year, the seven-time Grand Slam champion withdrew her name from the US Open because of her leg injury. However, since then, the tennis star has made wildcard entries in several tournaments this year but didn’t have a successful run as she was knocked out in the initial rounds.
