Billie Jean King is an avid supporter of various sports. Alongside being a former tennis professional, but is an enthusiast who plays several sports. She also regularly attends games as part of organizations or as a spectator. Just recently, she shared on her official social media channels how she attended a ballgame in Los Angeles.

But that’s not all. What caught everyone’s attention was that she did not attend the game alone. She not only was seen attending a fantastic match between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics but also spent time with a renowned pop singer who was also cheering for the Dodgers.

Just after making her presence at the Royal Box in Wimbledon at the Center Court, Billie Jean King is back in the headlines as she makes her way to watch the recent Dodgers game that took place on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. While she was there, she posted glimpses of the match and herself from the stadium. She also shared a picture of herself shaking hands with the renowned pop singer Shakira.

In the picture that she shared on her official Instagram story, she can be seen greeting Shakira. Further, Shakira’s sons are featured in the picture too, which she captioned, “What a treat to spend time with Shakira at a recent Dodgers game”.

Not just that, Billie Jean King also participated in L.A. Reads over the weekend as well. L.A. program hosted by the Dodgers Foundation where she distributed her own book too.

King participated in a joint event with Dodgers Foundation and LA Dodgers called LA Reads

According to Billie Jean King’s recent Instagram story, she participated in an event named ‘L.A. Reads’. The LA Dodgers and the Dodgers Foundation organized the event to motivate young children to engage in the habit of reading by distributing books to them. King distributed her own book to the kids present there, called ‘A Book for Kids Equality’.

The primary motive of the event is to cultivate lifelong love in kids for reading and to provide engaging programs and educational resources throughout the year. The noble goals align with King’s personal charity and activism as well. Her commitment to making the world a better place for the next generation – be it with her contribution to sports, involvement in society welfare, or events like these  – clearly shows what a wonderful role model she is. Once a legend, always a legend!
