‘Despicable As Ever…’ – Martina Navratilova Scoffs at Donald Trump Jr. As She Sides With Barack Obama in Welcoming WNBA Star Brittney Griner

Martina Navratilova was avidly appealing to the US government to bring the jailed WNBA star Brittney Griner back from Russia. The player was taken into custody under charges of carrying illegal drugs, which she denied doing it consciously. Nonetheless, the US government has made it possible to bring her back to the country. Subsequently, former president Barack Obama hailed the incumbent government.

However, the son of former president Donald Trump is not in favor of it all. And this brought a sharp reply from the tennis legend, who is a vocal critic of the former POTUS.

Be it the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, or the former president Donald Trump, she never hesitates to provide her staunchest criticism of their moves. Recently, the US government made it possible to bring WNBA star Brittney Griner home via a prisoner-swap program. And the former POTUS Barack Obama hailed the incumbent government for making it possible. Subsequently, Navratilova tweeted, “Brittney is going home- thank you to all who made it happen- welcome home Champ!!!”

Her love and support for the Obama family is something that she has boasted about on several occasions in the past. But the move to bring the WNBA star hasn’t gone down well with some people, as the US is freeing arms dealer, Viktor Bout in exchange.

Tweeting about the same, the son of the former US President Donald Trump tweeted, “No one cuts better deals than Biden. We get an awful America hating WNBA player, while Russia gets an INTERNATIONAL ARMS DEALER!!! The adults are back!”

To this Navratilova did not hide her discontent and stated mockingly, “Wow. Despicable as ever. What else is new Jr.?!?”
