Tennis legend Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis Ohanian, a diehard Michael Jordan fan, posted about it on Twitter.

According to Ohanian, the bids for the sneakers will continue to come thick and fast. He also predicted the valuation of the sneakers to hit a multi-million-dollar amount before it’s finally sold. It would mark yet another feather in the cap for billionaire Michael Jordan.

Since the beginning of the bidding process, the highest bid recorded amounted to $800,000. There’s more than a month to go before the bidding closes. Based on Ohanian’s predictions, bids are likely to go up to a whopping $5 million.

In his Twitter post, Ohanian reshared a tweet that specified the details of the auction. The tech entrepreneur and investor wrote, “I reckon these are gonna hit $5M. Who’s taking over/under?” Ohanian has a knack for making accurate predictions. If this one turns out to be true, it would further add to the legendary status of Michael Jordan.

Last month, another pair of Michael Jordan’s famous sneakers sold for $2.2 million. Jordan wore this pair during the 1997-98 season when he represented the Chicago Bulls. It’s incredible that despite retiring from professional basketball, Jordan continues to make and break records.
