Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently took to Twitter to commend Dawn Staley, the head coach of the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team. Soon after the team managed to secure a dominating win against NC State, Ohanian tweeted, “Congrats, coach @dawnstaley! More accolades to come.”

Dawn Staley, the renowned basketball Hall of Fame player and coach, has had a remarkable career, including three Olympic gold medals as a player and coaching another gold-medal-winning team, the USA. Now that she backs the Gamecocks with her proven leadership skills, the appreciation from fans as well as renowned personalities like Alexis Ohanian is justified.

The Gamecocks’ victory secured their spot in the NCAA tournament championship game. Moving ahead under the leadership of the projected WNBA lottery pick Kamilla Cardoso, who scored 22 points despite an injury scare, along with the remarkable support of sophomore forward Ashlyn Watkins, who contributed an impressive 20 rebounds off the bench, South Carolina not only secured a spot in the finals but also established themselves as a strong force.
