The Gamecocks’ victory secured their spot in the NCAA tournament championship game. Moving ahead under the leadership of the projected WNBA lottery pick Kamilla Cardoso, who scored 22 points despite an injury scare, along with the remarkable support of sophomore forward Ashlyn Watkins, who contributed an impressive 20 rebounds off the bench, South Carolina not only secured a spot in the finals but also established themselves as a strong force.
NC State also created the image of surpassing expectations this season by putting up a strong fight in the first half, showcasing their ability to stun higher-seeded teams like Stanford and Texas. However, it isn’t just Alexis who appears to be following the game closely.
