Ohanian first announced the venture in April on his Instagram post. It was made available for college students with innovative ideas to tackle climate change. On his Instagram profile, he shared the plan and the means through which students could join.

Ohanian’s followers can get a chance to be up to date with his ventures, as he remains quite active. Expanding on his efforts to halt climate change, the cofounder of Reddit and his 776 Foundation have shared new developments.

With great excitement, Ohanian shared the list of young students who will be a part of the $20 million plan. Each student will receive $100,000 for the next two years to give their best to curb climate change. 

While sharing the wonderful news by tagging the winners, Ohanian said, “Our 2nd Cohort of @776foundation #ClimateFellows is here! I’m giving them $100K each to spend the next 2 years focused on taking a big swing at fighting climate change. Even though they are still young, our Fellows give me a lot of hope for this generation and those to come with their dedication to solving climate change.“

Having already become one of the staunchest supporters of women’s empowerment and gender equality in sports, Ohanian now aims to become the face of climate change awareness.
