0 Grand Slams: Elina Svitolina Trolls Herself Over Her Major Victories

Elina Svitolina of Ukraine is one of the most elegant tennis players on the WTA tour. The Ukrainian has won 16 WTA singles titles in her professional career. She climbed her career-high ranking of World No. 3 in 2017. Recently, she trolled herself when a fan asked her about her Grand Slam title.

Svitolina is having an amazing season so far. The Ukrainian clinched a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics, beating Elena Rybakina in the bronze medal match. At Chicago Open 2021, she looked exquisite. She won her 16th WTA title at the Chicago open and dropped just two sets in the competition.

Recently, Svitolina took her social media and did the ‘show me a picture…’ trend. Svitolina’s fans asked her to show pictures of her favorite food, favorite match outfit, picture with Gael Monfils, and so on.

Furthermore, one person asked to show her a picture of her with a Grand Slam. Svitolina has never won one in her professional career so far, but instead of taking offense, she replied to it with a funny picture. She shared a photo of her hand with the number 0 on it.

Clearly, Svitolina was not embarrassed about the question and replied with some sportswoman spirit. Moreover, Twitter reactions to this incident were really noteworthy.

Elina returned to the US Open with a positive approach after her title win at Chicago Open. The Ukrainian had an impressive run at the Flushing Meadows. She gracefully reached the quarter-finals of the competition without dropping a set.

On her way to the quarter-finals, she defeated the former World No. 1 and two-times Grand Slam champion, Simona Halep in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Throughout the match, she dominated the Romanian.

In the quarter-finals, she faced the Canadian prodigy Leylah Fernandez. After a tough battle, the Canadian won the contest in three sets. Despite capturing the second set, Svitolina couldn’t surpass Fernandez. The final score recorded was 3-6, 6-3, 6-7.
