The rising star Coco Gauff is gearing up for an outstanding 2023 tennis season. After a fantastic tennis start to the year, the 18-year-old’s training sessions are in full swing. The most recent workout, though, was a little different because she joined her cousin Duriel Odom to celebrate his one-year anniversary of waking up from a coma.

The 18-year-old will compete in the WTA 250 as one of the top seeds to begin the 2023 season with the goal of winning her third WTA championship. The 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez, Emma Raducanu, Sloane Stephens and other tennis greats will also compete in the ASB Classic tournament.

Coco Gauff had an extra special training session

Gauff, who is 18 years old, is presently in her native Florida. At the Barwis performance facility in Deerfield Beach, South Florida, she attended a special training session. The young star used her Instagram to acknowledge her cousin’s accomplishment, even after suffering such a significant breakthrough by sharing some excellent news with her fans. She wrote sharing the Barwis post, “Monday grind day with fam.”

The social media post from the performance center included multiple images of the 18-year-old cousin with the tennis sensation. Fans commended the 2022 French Open finalist for taking some time off to exercise with her family.

Gauff’s sweet message for her mother

The 2022 French Open semifinalist celebrated her mother’s birthday on November 30 by posting an incredible message on social media. She thanked god for giving her the best mother in the world in her greeting. In addition, she shared pictures of herself and her mother, hailing their stunning similarity.

The American teenager’s parents are both former athletes. They provide the tennis player with tremendous support. While her father was a former basketball star, Candi Gauff used to compete in track and field at Florida State University.
