

Serena Williams and Venus Williams are one of the most successful tennis siblings the world has ever seen. The younger Williams sister is second on the list of the most Grand Slam titles in women’s singles, just one behind Margaret Court’s record of 24 titles. Meanwhile, Venus has seven Grand Slam singles titles to her credit.
Not only have they achieved success in singles, but also have combined as a pair to win an astonishing 14 Grand Slam doubles titles. Moreover, they also have 3 doubles gold medals at the Olympics.

It was Richard Williams, their father, who introduced the two sisters to tennis. His role in the success of his daughters has been immense. He would take them to the public tennis courts for training when they were just four and a half years old. Further, a biographical drama film named ‘King Richard’ was released in November 2021, which was inspired by the life of Richard Williams.

Serena Williams reacts to King Richard’s nomination at BAFTA Awards
The nominations for the 75th British Academy Film Awards were announced on Thursday, 3rd February 2022. The King Richard film has been nominated in four categories. Furthermore, Serena Williams, who happens to be one of the executive producers of the film, shared her excitement via her official Instagram handle. Chiefly, she shared a story with the caption that read, “Wow! 4 BAFTA Nominations!”

Will Smith, who played the role of Richard Williams, was nominated for the leading actor category. Further, Aunjanue Ellis received a nomination for the best supporting actress.
