Replying to a fan?s question, “Who is your ideal mixed doubles partner and opponent pair?”, Venus responded with a photo of herself and Serena. She added, “I only play doubles with this one. So unless she’s coming back?.”?

Although the tennis legend announced that she would stop playing after this year’s US Open to focus on other essential matters, this mysterious message on her Instagram story has left fans on edge again.

In her retirement essay, Serena said, ?I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn?t feel like a modern word to me. I?ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people“.
