The 65-year-old took to Twitter and posted a congratulatory quote that says, ?NEW HISTORY JUST DROPPED. @MaryPeltola is the first Alaska Native, first woman, and first Alaska-born congressperson ever to sit in the United States House of Representatives.?

The quoted post was for Mary Peltola, who became the first woman to get nominated for the United States House of Representatives. Peltola is someone who had also served as a tribal court judge before.

Navratilova and her stellar career records

After making her tennis debut in 1974, she won her first Grand Slam tournament in 1978 at Wimbledon. The 65-year-old had a stellar career, winning 59 Grand Slams. By the end of the year, she had also ascended to the top of the WTA rankings. The tennis icon held the number one spot in the WTA rankings for a record 332 weeks.?

In 1990, Martina Navratilova recorded her final Grand Slam title. In doing so, she set a new record of nine Wimbledon Championships triumphs. A fierce rivalry existed between the 65-year-old and her friend and fellow countrywoman, Chris Evert.
