It was her sister, Serena Williams, who inspired the 42-year-old tennis legend when they were teenagers. Venus revealed what her sister told her when they were kids, “‘ Since you have to show up why not compete?'”

That inspirational message had a huge impact on the American tennis legend’s illustrious journey. Whether it was her on or off-the-court endeavors, Venus applied that advice to all aspects. Even though that advice was given in the context of tennis, it also helped the former US Open champion with her business endeavors.

Her entrepreneurial project, Eleven by Venus has already turned out to be a huge success because of the premium apparel and other sports accessories from the brand. The American tennis icon’s clothing brand has also reached the popular online shopping platform, Amazon.

Talking about the success of her business endeavors, Venus said that her sister’s advice has really pushed her to be the best.

She said, “Everything makes you stronger if you allow it to. So I choose to take every opportunity and use it as a moment to push myself to be the best I can possibly be.”
