The American tennis legend, Chris Evert, previously made a shocking revelation about being diagnosed with BRCA-related ovarian cancer. However, after regular rounds of treatment, the former tennis player has finally announced that she’s free from the same disease which took the life of her sister Jeanne. She underwent a preventive hysterectomy and a double mastectomy as a part of her lengthy treatment. While announcing the news, Evert also opened up about her journey after getting diagnosed with the BRCA-1 variant of the disease.
The tennis community took note of the news, as they were delighted to know the Tennis Hall of Famer is now cancer free. The fans flocked to social media to hail the 18-time singles Grand Slam champion as a great fighter.
