

US tennis legend Chris Evert is keeping her fans updated over the status of her health. After announcing that she is officially done with stage 1 chemotherapy early this month, Chris was very active on social media and kept her fans updated with her analysis of tennis tournaments.

Evert updates on her current health status and thanks her ex-husband
Recently, Evert shared a video on her official Twitter handle, proving updates on her health and the current stage of her recovery. Evert thanked the nurse for taking care of her at the medical center and also her ex-husband Andy Mill, who takes her to the center and stood by her during this difficult time.

“I have Andy over here who is with his yeti hat on. He is been a great loyal caregiver. I love him to death. He is been taking me every three weeks. This is my fourth week actually, because, in my 3rd week, my white blood count was too low, so I had to wait a week. So I am good to go.”

The former world no.1 also encourages viewers to go for the tests on an appointment basis.

“Go get checked guys, you know, honor the appointments that you have medically. Once a year, twice a year. For every check up you need to have, be pro-active. It may save your life so I am gonna just keep bugging you off for doing that”

Chris Evert diagnosed with Ovarian cancer
Earlier this year, Evert announced her diagnosis of Ovarian cancer. The 67-year-old said in her ESPN column that a malignant tumor was found after a preventive hysterectomy.
US tennis star also gave an update on social media as she tweeted, “I wanted to share my stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis and the story behind it as a way to help others. I feel very lucky that they caught it early and expect positive results from my chemo plan.”

The preventive test was carried out after her sister’s death due to cancer and her genetic report showed susceptibility to a certain variant of cancer. Evert said after her tests and diagnosis, “Be your own advocate. Know your family’s history. Have total awareness of your body, follow your gut and be aware of changes.”

Battling cancer, the American legend has been consistent in proving her love for the sport as she is now remotely working with the ESPN team for commentary and expert analysis.

Commenting on the Sunshine Double, Chris said, “I have enjoyed the Miami open; Indian Wells is just keeping me interested. And I miss all of you and can’t wait to swing a thing.” The American legend has already battled halfway past the disease and there is no doubt that she will complete the fight and emerge victorious.
