Hechtman on Venus being undervalued
When the younger sister came into the limelight, Venus was gradually inching her way to the pinnacle of the women’s circuit. Eric Hechtman, in the Match Point Canada podcast, talked about Venus’ potential and how she silently overcame every hurdle.
When asked about Venus Williams, he said, “For everything Venus has overcome, from her syndrome to battling her sister and still maintaining an unbelievable relationship, it’s not easy. And she still won 7 slams in singles, right I don’t know in singles, doubles, mix doubles, three events in the tournaments, and winning all of them. So she’s just, I do feel like..she is a little underappreciated for all that she’s accomplished. There is no doubt. But she’s a class act, the ultimate class act.”
