Serena Williams wants to set a legacy that helps people

Serena Williams had wanted her legacy to be aligned with her faith, in the service to others. She said, “There’s a saying in Spiderman, ‘To those whom much is given much is expected in return.’ That’s what his grandfather told him.” She connected it to her faith as well. Williams said, “Actually, it is in the Bible as well, but it was said different in the Bible.” At that point, she was opening a school in Africa. Along with being a tennis player, the player wanted to open doors of opportunity for others to learn and grow.

Serena Williams is fulfilling her legacy. The player became the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and promoted the UNICEF Schools for Africa initiative to provide education to the most vulnerable children. During the pandemic too, the player donated more than four million masks to underserved schools.
