Kudermetova is currently competing at the 2023 Madrid Open, where she defeated Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals on May 3. In a post-match interview, Kudermetova shared that she was prepared to face her rivals. However, when the interviewer, Prakash Amritraj, asked her a question about Coco Gauff, Kudermetova mistakenly mispronounced her name. Kudermetova said “Coca” instead of “Coco”.
