Ash Barty, the Australian tennis ace, retired from tennis when she was at the peak of her career. She said goodbye to the sport just after she claimed her first Australian Open trophy. Though her dropping the racket at the age of 25 pained her fans. Barty knew it was the right decision.

Earlier, the Australian, while giving her retirement speech, spoke about wanting to do something for her beloved niece and nephew. And now, a few months after her statement, the books she wrote for children like her niece are being rolled out.

Barty took on Instagram to inform her fans about the release of her books and wrote, Today’s the day! The first four books in the Little Ash series are out now. I loved books growing up and watching the joy my niece now gets from reading inspired this series. It’s been so fun adding elements of my childhood to these stories, in a way that I hope will make children smile.”

Barty’s achievements

Barty turned pro in the year 2010 and became the second Australian tennis professional to claim the ranking of world No.1. She held the ranking of World no.1 for 121 weeks in totality, with a record of 114 consecutive weeks.

In fact, when she decided to bid farewell to the sport, she was holding the ranking of WTA No.1. Further, Barty has won 15 singles titles, out of which three are Grand Slams. And in the case of doubles, the former doubles World No.5  has 12 career titles, including the 2018 US Open title.
