She recalled, “I was terrible, you know, in Paris, I just could not. I was so self-conscious. I was walking on the streets of Paris or sitting in a restaurant and like admiring straight couples kissing each other, holding hands, and something that it’s like so normal to me now. At that time, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t even imagine making myself doing and Martina would hold my hands. And I would take my hand away. I know people can watch us they can see us.”
