Sky Sports recently announced that they had acquired the rights to provide coverage for many ATP and WTA tournaments. Their focus seemed to be mainly on Coco Gauff, which did not settle well with one tennis fan. She called them out for mainly focusing on her and not on Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, which evoked the fans of the US Open champion to come forward and defend their favorite player.

Fans of Gauff are very protective of their favorite player. They have often rushed to defend her. They defended her from Pam Shriver’s comments and even lauded her for not focusing on the former American player when she tried to interact with her after the US Open.

Sky Sports recently shared a poster as they announced that they have secured a new partnership to broadcast several ATP and WTA tournaments. They shared pictures of many players in a poster to show their new rights to tennis. However, they made it hard to find Swiatek, and Sabalenka was absent from the poster altogether.

This evoked one tennis fan to write, “Aryna Sabalenka does not even make th graphic, while current world number 1 Iga Swiatek is merely a footnote – yet half of the picture is taken up by an one slam wonder. You can already predict how insufferable the coverage will be. 😭“. Gauff fans were not happy with what they perceived to be slander to the 19-year-old star.

One fan pointed out that the poster was devoid of any Russian or Belarusian stars. They further said that even though Gauff has only won one slam, she has more appeal, and marketing will decide which player makes it onto the poster.

One fan of Gauff stated that calling her a one-slam wonder when another slam after her win has not been played yet is suboptimal. They further agreed that the graphic had some problems in it, but Gauff’s inclusion was not one of them.

Another fan said that the hate for Gauff is high, but she brings in the most viewers and crowd.

One fan listed her accomplishments, saying that calling her a one-slam wonder when she won the most recent one at 19 years of age and being world number 3 shows the tide of hate that follows her.

Another fan questioned the poster about calling Gauff a one-slam wonder, especially when she has potentially 20 years of a career left.
