The news of the friend of Serena Williams, Meghan Markle, and her husband Prince Harry’s whopping 30 million deal getting called off has hit the headlines. Though, there is not any spice to pick up on the matter as the Archewell Production of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have “mutually” decided to part ways with Spotify. What started as a “multi-year” deal has now found its end sooner than expected. With that comes the apprehension of other deals like the $100 million one with Netflix.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry find themselves in a pickle as Serena Williams-featured series’ future dwindle

Serena Williams has shared one of the most wholesome friendships with Meghan Markle. The duo first got acquainted in 2010. However, it was in 2014 that the two struck up a conversation. Since then, there has been no going back. The former WTA queen has always backed her best friend Meghan Markle. To show solidarity with the Duchess of Sussex, Williams even became the first guest of Markle’s Spotify podcast, Archetypes.

Recently, it has come to light that the $20 million deal between Markle and Harry’s Archewell and Spotify has been called off. With this comes the end of Archetypes on Spotify. Though there are speculations that the podcast would continue on other platforms. But now the apprehension is surrounding the five-fold $100 million deal which the couple has with the giant OTT platform, Netflix.

US’ The Sun has claimed that the deal is “unlikely” to be renewed, as there is no content left to be extracted. However, Vanity Fair claims the deal is in rather good shape as compared to that of Spotify. Prince Harry’s “Heart of Invictus” documentary is on the router to be featured by the end of this summer.

With speculations going around, there has been no specific comment on how Netflix is going to fair. But the Netflix docuseries of the two saw Serena Williams backing up the couple as a true friend.

Amidst the royal drama, Williams vouched for an amiable closure between the two families so that Meghan and Harry could have a peaceful life.
