Allyson Felix’s encouraging comeback message for Naomi Osaka

The four-time Grand Slam champion might not have been active on the court due to her pregnancy, but she was quite vocal about the support she found as a mother, who is also an athlete. Recently, after defeating Tamara Korpatsch in the first clash of her comeback tournament in Brisbane, she received a strong message from another athletic mother, who had also previously advised her on motherhood.

Felix took to her Instagram account to share an encouraging message for the former world number one’s strong return on the court. She wrote a post about how the 26-year-old came out on top, even after being away for 15 months. Along with that, she wrote, “Welcome back @naomiosaka, that mom strength.”

Osaka said, “She had a lot of really good advice. I talked to her a lot before and then after the birth but my memory is so bad that I wouldn’t be able to give you a clue or the advice straight off my head.” While she didn’t remember a lot from their conversations, Osaka is quite grateful that the 38-year-old athlete was just a phone call away when she needed her the most.
