The American tennis star, Jennifer Brady, seemed to have never left. After nearly two years away from the sport, she has returned to where it all started. She finally got her chance to shine again at the DC Open, where she won her first WTA Tour match in two years after struggling with injuries. Upon witnessing the 28-year-old American tennis player back in action, Serena Williams‘ former coach Rennae Stubbs sent her a kind welcome letter and expressed her support as a real fan.

Brady demonstrated that everything is possible despite having many sleepless nights worrying about whether she would be able to return to the tennis tour. She had reached the 2021 Australian Open final two years before taking a break, but now she’s taken steps to forget those two years.

Serena Williams’ former coach sends a heartwarming message to Jennifer Brady 

When the 28-year-old American tennis player made her comeback announcement a month ago, there were a lot of speculations about whether she was ready for it. But as soon as she stepped on the tennis court, she won her first WTA match by defeating 28th-ranked Anhelina Kalinina in the DC Open’s first round. With her victory, along with a lot of tennis fans, the former Australian tennis player, Rennae Stubbs, also came forward and vouched for Brady.

Stubbs took to her Twitter account to share a cheerful message for the 2021 Australian Open finalist. She wrote, “So happy to see @jennifurbrady95 get her first win @WTA level today in over 2 years! Let’s hear it tennis fans for one of the truly great people!!! She’s back and tennis is better for it!”

Her last WTA-level event was the 2021 Western and Southern Open, where she retired in the second round owing to a foot injury. But right now, nothing is going to deter her from achieving her goal! As she is back on the tennis court, poised and ready to advance towards achieving the tennis aspirations she left two years ago.

However, despite how it might have seemed from the outside, she had a difficult time returning to court. She had to go through a lot of different things, both physically and mentally, that she never anticipated in her life.

After winning the first-round match at the DC Open, during the post-match press conference, the 28-year-old talked about the difficulties that she had to endure in the past 2 years. She said, “There were a lot of times where I was at a complete stop, not doing much. I really didn’t look like a professional athlete, a professional tennis player.”

She went on to say that she handled each issue one at a time with a great deal of enthusiasm and patience, and that she was generally pleased with how she managed her emotions and stuck to her plans.

Overall, Brady has her sights set on regaining the rankings that she lost during her 2-year hiatus, and it will be fantastic to see her at the US Open, making her comeback on the biggest stage.
