Ahead of Super Bowl 2024, Venus Williams Flexes Her Football Skills in Inspiring Initiative From $6 Billion Brand

The world’s former number-one tennis star Venus Williams is known for inspiring young athletic talents to come forward to establish themselves in their favorite sport. To add more fuel to such initiatives, Venus Williams recently joined a football match “to help nurture girls’ self-belief and confidence”.

Previously in Vogue’s interview last October, Venus Williams spoke about her vision to change how female athletes are treated in their respective sports. Now this legendary tennis star is witnessing another football game with female young girls and motivating them to focus on their capability instead of appearance.

Ahead of the Superbowl, Venus Williams was spotted taking part in Dove’s new initiative #KEEPHERCONFIDENT. In this initiative, Dove arranged a game of football for young female athletes, and Venus Williams was spotted taking part in that. Not only that but this American tennis star also motivated the participants.

Williams said- “I am excited to be working with Dove on this initiative to help nurture girls’ self-belief and confidence, foster a positive environment, and shift the conversation from appearance to capability.”

Venus Williams shared a bunch of photos from the event on her official Instagram story. In those pictures, Williams was spotted with Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie Kelce, and Steve Young. She also motivated the young participants as she cheered for them and hugged them. Given that the kids got to meet Venus Williams, it was a big opportunity for them. Along with Young and Kelce, Venus Williams played the role of one of the team’s coaches.

Along with the pictures, Venus Williams also shared her feelings which expressed the tennis star’s encouragement towards the initiative. Williams wrote in one picture- “So thankful to have been a part of this amazing event with @dove. Let’s keep girls in sports!”

Venus Williams’s mantra to take charge of mental health

Williams was interviewed recently where she spoke about her collaboration with Nike and Dove. In this interview, Williams spoke openly about her objective to bring more young females to sports and encourage them to play despite all odds. In her words- “People are literally paid to say stuff. That’s their job. To write an article or say something on TV. and a lot of times people are saying things because guess what? they can’t do it. And so, if they could, they would, but they can’t, but you will!”

Venus Williams’s participation in Dove’s initiative truly impressed her fans. They understood that along with being a tennis stalwart, Williams was a great advocate for female athletes against all kinds of discrimination.
