In tennis, where young talents often shine briefly and then fade away, there’s someone exceptional – Coco Gauff. Her story isn’t just about being really good at tennis; it’s about her incredible determination. Even Serena Williams‘ former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, noticed her determination when she was just 10 years old.

Gauff’s success isn’t just because she’s talented. It’s also because she never gives up and always wants to achieve great things. In his sit down with CNN, Patrick Mouratoglou talked about how he saw a star in Coco Gauff even when she was only 10.

Coco Gauff’s unwavering spirit recently led her to a historic victory at the US Open, where she became the champion at the age of 19. Her journey to this incredible win was filled with hard work, overcoming challenges, and a strong desire to succeed. After a disappointing exit from Wimbledon in July, Gauff didn’t give up. She declared, “Losing only makes me want to work even harder.”

Now, she has proved it by winning important matches in Washington D.C. and Cincinnati Masters just a month later.

Mouratoglou, who has been like a mentor to her since she was young, talked about how good Gauff is at handling pressure, which helped her win the US Open at just 19 years old. “She learned to deal with [the pressure] when she was young, and that’s one reason she could win her first big tennis tournament at such a young age,” he said.

Mouratoglou cleverly paraphrased the American idiom to describe the trajectory at which Coco Gauff is at. He stated, “Americans say, ‘Sky’s the limit.’ I don’t see any limit and I would not give her any limits.”

However, recently Mouratoglou faced tons of backlash from the fans for trying to hog the credit of something he didn’t deserve. Yet, he still thinks that there is more of a champion left in Coco Gauff and she is nowhere near done.
