The 80YO American former world number 1 tennis player Billie Jean King recently congratulated the history-making Golden Globe Award winner. Apart from King’s on-court heroics, she’s also known for being the pioneer of speaking out for women’s rights and gender equality in sports. BJK is always there to cheer out loud the names of all women who have achieved remarkable feats in their careers, be it in sports or anything else.

Ali Wong, the American standup comedian, actress, writer, producer, and director won a Golden Globe for her performance in ‘Beef’. The American standup comedian and actor, Jo Koy hosted the entire ceremony, and ‘Oppenheimer’ ruled the entire show on Sunday. Now, let’s look at some other award winners.

‘Beef’ won the Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture, made for Television. And, Ali Wong won the Best Performer by an Actress award in the same category. Here is what Billie Jean King said to her in her congratulatory message, “Cheers to Ali Wong, who made history tonight by becoming the first actress of Asian descent to win best female actor in the Limited Series or Television Motion Picture category at the Golden Globes.”

‘Beef’ is a dramedy created by Korean director, Lee Sung Jin for Netflix. It is all about the aftermath of a road rage incident. Emma Stone who has played the role of Billie Jean King in the ‘Battle of Sexes’ was seen with the iconic tennis player at the Golden Globes Awards ceremony this Sunday. Stone wore a black one-shoulder gown and BJK wore a black suit with black sunglasses in support of the Times Up initiative. What’s it though? Well, the Times Up initiative is a non-profit organization that raises money to support victims of sexual harassment.

However, this isn’t the first time when Emma Stone was seen with Billie Jean King at the Golden Globes. The duo was earlier seen together at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards as well. That year Emma Stone won the Best Actress-Motion Picture Comedy or Musical Award for her role in ‘Battle of Sexes.’
