‘All the Way Through’ – Serena Williams’ Former Coach Patrick Mouratoglou Shows Solidarity With Simona Halep After Her Failed Doping Test

With the tennis world still struggling to accept the retirement of two of the biggest tennis legends, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, a startling revelation has come crashing down. Simona Halep, the two-time Grand Slam winner, was recently suspended for taking a prohibited substance. After the news broke, the coach of the Romanian star, Patrick Mouratoglou, took to his Instagram story to show his support for his player.

The 2019 Wimbledon Champion, Simona Halep, failed a drug test at the US Open and has been banned from participating in any further tennis events.

The Romanian player is in utter shock after the ban, which has been put into immediate effect. Although the International Tennis Integrity Agency has given its reasoning behind the ban, Halep has refuted all such claims and has sent a strong message of uncovering the truth.

Her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, took to his Instagram story to show solidarity with the Romanian player. He stated, “I support you 100% in this fight, Simona. All the way through.”

However, that is not enough for her fans, who have criticized Serena Williams‘ former coach for not doing more than just sending out a message in her support.

One fan took to Twitter to share the message where the fan wanted the coach and his team to take more responsibility and not just show support with a few words.

What does Halep have to say?

The world no. 9 took to her social media accounts to refute her doping claims made by the ITIA. She felt betrayed for being subjected to such a decision as she talked about her upbringing and her core values. The player tested positive for a banned substance called Roxadustat.

She had made her comeback at the Madrid Open in May and was getting her rhythm back. However, she lost in the first round of the US Open to Daria Snigur. Afterward, she was on a break when the news broke out.
