Serena Williams has been one of the greatest athletes of her generation. During her early days in tennis, she worked hard along with her father and her elder sister, Venus Williams. The hard work paid off as she didn’t have to wait long to win her maiden Grand Slam title. In just her second appearance at the US Open, Serena lifted the title, defeating Martina Hingis in the final of the 1999 US Open.

Since then, she has dominated her opponents on the tennis court to win another 22 major titles. Serena is eying an elusive 24th Grand Slam title that will see her equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 major titles. Recently, she opened up about her intense training regime.

The former World Number 1 shared her training regime on MasterClass. Revealing details of this, she said, “I train very hard. I almost break my body down. That way, when I start, I’m ready for anything and I’m ready for it to last for about eight to nine months in the season. Somewhere in the middle of the season, I have another intense training session.”
