The Volvo Car Open 2021 has commenced and Amanda Anisimova was up against Magda Linette in the very first round. In an exciting contest, it was Anisimova who made an incredible comeback. The final scoreline of the match was 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

The Polish player broke yet again and extended her lead to 5-3 at the end of the eighth game. Trouble was increasing for Anisimova, but she performed brilliantly under pressure yet again and brought the scoreline to 5-5.
Linette was also not ready to give in as she broke for the fourth time, and this time won the subsequent game as well to seal the set 7-5.
Set-2: Amanda Anisimova strikes back
Anisimova began the second set in style as she won three straight games after breaking her opponent’s serve. With the help of some beautiful serves and returns, she was back in the match with a bang.
Even though Linette tried to put up a fight, she stood nowhere near the mighty Anisimova. She managed to bring the scoreline to 5-2 after breaking in the seventh game. However, it was too late for her in this set.

Anisimova broke for the third time and conquered the set 6-2.
Set-3: Game, Set, Match for Anisimova

Anisimova carried forward her momentum and won four back-to-back points to seal off the first game. However, Linette struck back and equalized the scoreline in the next game.
The American had gained her form back and was not ready to give it up. She broke in the fourth game and took her lead to 3-1 and also won the next game to extend her lead to 4-1.

Even though Linette tried to fight back as she did in the first set, Anisimova didn’t make any mistakes this time. The World No.33 player won the seventh game with an almost perfect backhand winner and was not just one game away.
Even though the Polish took the subsequent game, it didn’t take Anisimova long to seal the match as she won the subsequent game, took the set 6-2, and thus won the match.
