Jessica Pegula on the importance of regular check-ups
Pegula is one of the top players of the WTA, as she showed the world in her WTA Finals stint. Being one of the top players in her prime, she needs to ensure that she is healthy to compete. Pegula suffered a medical scare when her mother suffered a cardiac arrest. Now, she has come out and spoken about the importance of getting regular check-ups, along with Hologic and WTA.
“I feel like with everything now, they say the earlier you catch any sort of sign or symptom, you’re gonna have a better outcome in the future. So definitely dealing with that has obviously just opened up my mind even more to how important it is to make sure you keep getting your check-ups if something is bothering you,” she said in a video shared by WTA on their official ‘X’ account.

She also said that one should be open with their doctors. Many others might suffer similar difficulties, and they can provide them with some help as well. “Usually, there’s a woman out there going through the same similar issues, and you can always find help or direction if you speak up.”
Pegula’s words resonate with all tennis stars who are currently on tour. Just looking at the health problems WTA players have experienced this year, one can corroborate her mindset.
