Martina Navratilova shares an important message for all the women

She said, “I paid attention, so that’s why I want to talk about it — because I want women to pay attention to their bodies. We take care of everybody else. When you get the card that the dog needs to get the rabies vaccination, we take them tomorrow. We get the card about a mammogram, and we’re like, ‘Oh, I’ll do it later.’”

Since then, she has become quite diligent with her scans, which has helped her to catch two of her recent cancers at an early stage. Apart from this, last year, the former world’s number-one-ranked tennis player made an important plea to women.

When Navratilova made a self-care plea

Last year, in a conversation with Dr. Lipi Roy, the nine-time Wimbledon Champion spoke about women’s role as caretakers and stressed the importance of better self-care. She talked about how women take care of everybody else, but it’s not the same case when it comes to themselves.

Along with that, she also talked about how taking care of one’s self is also very important. Now and then, the 66-year-old tennis player has reached out to women to take better care of themselves just like they are for others.
