It’s not easy to be a tennis player and a mom, balancing one’s dreams with carrying the weight of caregiving forward. Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka have written their own stories while breaking barriers on the WTA tour, redefining the mold of possibilities for women. But there is one more tennis player who has followed in their footsteps to balance both parts of her life. It’s none other than Taylor Townsend, who recently demonstrated how it still is a delicate tightrope to walk.

The 27-year-old shared a video of herself sitting with her toddler, Adyn Aubrey Johnson, while he was unwell. Along with that, she wrote, “Sick baby means Mom stays home.” In addition, she also shared a few more videos while taking care of her sick son, underlining how things can be quite difficult to handle sometimes. Townsend posted a video of herself trying to catch her breath whilst watching her son through the baby webcam. Subsequently, she also wrote a caption that will be understood by a lot of tennis mothers. She wrote, “Sunday I win a title, Wednesday it’s this… I’m worn out already.” Just after winning a title, rather than relaxing, she was busy calming her sick baby down.
