Similarities between Stephens and Raducanu
Both players rose to fame in an instant. After winning their first Grand Slam titles, they were instantly thrust into the spotlight. Stephens won the US Open in 2017 and Emma Raducanu in 2021. However, fame is always followed by scrutiny, especially in a global sport like tennis. When Stephens’ performances deteriorated on the Tour, she was the target of severe criticism from both fans and pundits. The same has happened to Raducanu this year.
