With all that success and prowess, she still couldn’t consistently get the better of Serena Williams. The American was a different beast while playing against Sharapova. If we look at the records, it shows sheer dominance from the 40-year-old. The two played 22 matches against each other, in which Serena won 20 matches.
The last match between these two was a first-round encounter at the US Open 2019. Serena romped the match 6-1,6-1. Although Sharapova is great on her own, Serena dominated her throughout her career. This speaks volumes about Serena’s greatness.
