America’s Paid Leave Restrictions for Parents Forces New Mom Naomi Osaka to Take a Massive Initiative

Naomi Osaka has taken part in several ventures throughout her career, and some of the recent ones have been focused on helping new parents have a smooth transition to such a life. The Japanese player recently announced another venture where she plans to help parents who are pregnant by ensuring there are no hiccups in the leaves they are officially owed.

The 26-year-old Japanese player recently had her daughter Shai in July 2023 and has focused on returning to tennis since. However, that has not been her only focus in the last year. Federal leave for new mothers parents is a big issue in the US, and Osaka aims to tackle it with Bobbie, a brand for new mothers.

Bobbie announced their venture on their Instagram page, which was shared by Naomi Osaka as well. The caption of the video covers the crux of the topic as she wrote, “The lack of federal paid leave has left parents with little, if any, support. As a new mom, this hit home for me. That’s why I partnered with @bobbie to advocate for the Family and Medical Leave Act, which would give 12 weeks paid leave, job protection, and guarantee a minimum monthly benefit of $580.”

Osaka also shared how Bobbie is tackling the problem. “⁠Earlier this year, we introduced the N.O. Support Grants to give $580 to families in need while we push for paid leave. Then we invited brands to join our coalition, securing more funds for families in need.”

The brand went through 10,000 stories of mothers who lost their jobs during their pregnancy and those who struggled to pay bills. Their initial goal was to support 50 families, but they managed to take their number up to 200. Her venture is proving to be successful, making it her second venture, which aims to improve the quality of parenthood.

Osaka creates venture for infants in need

The Japanese player went on a hiatus early in 2023 but didn’t stop her working schedule. She fulfilled her duty as a public figure by announcing a charitable effort on her Instagram feed. The former world number one has launched an initiative to assist infants and babies in need around the world. She collaborated with Crate & Kids, a firm that specializes in items for babies and kids.

With the company, Osaka helped distribute a million diapers to folks who couldn’t afford them. Osaka’s love for charity work shines through in her off-court ventures, as one could see in her collaboration with Crate & Kids. She also showed it with her recent partnership with Bobbie, and we are likely to see it shortly with another venture to help infants, toddlers, and new parents.
