Emma Raducanu will be playing her first-ever grand slam after her comeback at the Australian Open 2024 in Melbourne. She was away from the sport for a good eight months while she was undergoing ankle and wrist surgeries in May. And now that she is back, obviously, her fans want to know how she sees herself and envisions herself for the AO 2024 tournament season.

In a recent interview, she was asked about what and how she plans to handle the next season since she is coming back after 8 months and people had a lot of expectations from her after her last US Open win. Her response was merely that she felt lighter and more positive.

‘type of person and their character is big-time’ – Raducanu reveals her reason for feeling happy

In an interview with the Express, Emma Raducanu was asked about how she feels that now she will be playing for the first time in over 8 months after her US Open win. To which she said that she feels really happy and light now.

Raducanu added, “I feel a lot lighter now than I did for a long time after the US Open. I feel like I’m not playing with a backpack of rocks. I feel pretty light and happy. I think surrounding yourself with competent and knowledgeable people is of course really important, but also the type of person and their character is big-time, just making sure we really get on and intentions are really good.”

She also added in her statement that the people she surrounded herself with made her feel that way so surely that is very important for her. Besides that, Raducanu also shared how she brought herself back to her best form while she was away.

Raducanu shines light on her journey after going through the surgery and recovering

In the same interview, Emma Raducanu talked about how she was working with the LTA to get the required help she needed. She was working out in the gym, and also working through physio sessions along with tennis practice. Further, she also added that she was working with Nick Cavaday for her training.

She stated that Nick helped her during the off-season to focus on her rehab and fitness before she started hitting the court again in November and December Raducanu added, “Nick was also around. I asked him, because he coached me when I was between 10 and 12. He was there.” Lastly, Emma Raducanu stated that for her success means achievements in the long run so for now she just wants to play a full season being healthy.
