28-year-old tennis star Eugenie Bouchard rose to fame when she became the only Canadian player to be in the finals of a Grand Slam. Eugenie won hearts of millions when she climbed up the draws to reach the final of the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Bouchard’s supporters usually call her Genie and she is known for living her life in her own accord. Adding to that, she also has a huge following on social media. Eugenie is a much-celebrated player as she keeps on trending even though she hasn’t been playing since March 2021.

Eugenie Bouchard Wasn’t Ready

Although people often surround Bouchard with speculations of losing her focus because of getting drawn into stardom, she has proved them wrong several times. However, while speaking to the Tennis channel in a podcast, the Canadian star admitted that she initially didn’t know how to deal with the fame that came her way.

Yes, I agree with that fame comes quickly with it (tennis). I think that’s the part that most athletes or anybody is really least prepared for.”

Bouchard added, “You are training and planning for results and you are expecting these results. But I wasn’t prepared for the thing that would come with it. Like no one knows ahead of time. You don’t really wanna prematurely do that either, because if that never comes, you don’t wanna start thinking bigger than you are.”

Eugenie Bouchard enjoyed her peak form in between year 2014 and 2015. She was also on the list of elite players ranked world no. 5 in 2014. Post 2015, she struggled to find her lost form. However, recently she slowly started climbing up the rankings. Owing to her shoulder injury at the Monterrey Open 2021, she was forced to stay out of competition.

Recently, Bouchard announced that she will rejoin the circuit this Clay season. Starting her season from an ITF tournament, she would be hoping to make a wild card entry in Roland Garros later. Along with Bouchard, her fans are all set to see her make a strong comeback.
