After losing 1st round Wimbledon it was a tough situation. A lot of prayer, a lot of support from my church family. So thank you to him & those who support me,” Gauff’s mention of her church family and God’s contribution to her success assured fans that she is a devoted Catholic.

On the other hand, Alycia Parks known to keep her private life totally off-ground from the media expressed her take on faith and God multiple times. She once said- “Usually when stuff starts to get rocky for me, I know something good is about to happen because that’s just God testing me,”

Referring to her WTA 125 win, Parks further added– “Maybe that’s why God didn’t allow me to win Valencia because he probably said, OK, Alycia, you have ITF titles. I know how bad you want this, but next week you’re going to win your first WTA 125 title, something that you’ve never done before. You won ITF titles, and that’s cute, but a WTA title, that’s a step higher.”
