Serena Williams and Meghan Markle met for the first time in 2010. However, it was during their meeting at the 2014 Super Bowl that kick-started a friendship that lasted for more than a decade and is still going strong. Over the years, the two celebrities have given valuable advice to their friend when they needed it the most. Back in 2018, it was Williams’ turn to advise her friend, Markle, who was expecting her first baby.

In 2018, the way the Duchess of Sussex stayed the same way astounded the tennis legend. But she was still worried about her friend and Williams gave a piece of advice to her friend.

Serena Williams once dished out important advice to Meghan Markle

It was eight years into their friendship when Williams gave Markle a piece of advice. They had met at the launch of Serena Williams’ clothing line. When Serena Williams met Markle, the Duchess focused on Williams. Tennis star talked about the incident and said, “I’m like, “How are you?” and she’s like, “No, how are you?” and I’m like, “You’re so sweet, but I’m really asking – how are YOU?”

This was the time when Williams thought Markle needed a piece of advice. She said, “I’m like, “Meghan, stop being so nice…you’re the pregnant one, aren’t you supposed to have hormones, why are you so sweet?” However, she also acknowledged how nice and caring Markle has always been. She conclusively said, “But that’s always been her.”

Williams has also appeared in the ‘Harry & Meghan’ documentary on Netflix, where she talked about the baby shower she had thrown for the Duchess of Sussex. Furthermore, she also hoped that people would understand that all Harry and Markle are trying to do is build a family with love and care.

There were a lot of rumors about the falling out of Williams-Markle’s friendship. However, this is not true as the two friends cleared this misunderstanding in Markle’s first episode of her podcast with Serena Williams.
