Interestingly, Kim Clijsters will be playing as a wildcard and Aryna Sabalenka will begin as the top-seeded player.

In Ashleigh Barty’s absence, World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka will lead the seeds at the WTA 500 Chicago. After her, Czech star Karolina Pliskova will occupy the second seed and World No.5 Elina Svitolina will be there at the third seed.
