It’s the season of love and it looks like Aryna Sabalenka is sinking in it. The Belarusian star has been in a relationship with entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis and they were first spotted together back in April last year. Frangulis has been by Sabalenka’s side through thick and thin after she had a rather emotional season last year. As a result, Sabalenka was able to produce her best, and it became one of the most successful seasons of her career. With love knowing no bounds, Sabalenka had a sweet message for Frangulis on Valentine’s Day.

Frangulis has always been behind Sabalenka and strongly supports her in her tennis career. He was also seen at the US Open last year, cheering his girlfriend from the stands as Sabalenka went on to win her maiden title there. “There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” Sabalenka once said.

Aryna Sabalenka left emotional after the Australian Open final defeat

The World Number 1 went down fighting against Madison Keys in this year’s Australian Open final. While she was the favorite to win the title there, Keys delivered a stunning performance to prevail over the Belarusian star. It was a bitter pill to swallow for Sabalenka and she made an emotional confession after the tournament.

Sabalenka said, “This one was the toughest one. I think for a week I was still thinking about that match. Honestly, looking back and thinking about those two lost games [in the final set], I didn’t do anything wrong, she just played out of her mind, and it was her day – there’s nothing to regret. I think right now I’m fully recovered after that tough match.”

However, it looks like Sabalenka is yet to get over her emotional defeat Down Under as she suffered a shock loss against Ekaterina Alexandrova in Qatar. The World Number 1 went down fighting in tough three sets 6-6, 3-6, 6-7 (5) in the round of 32 clash. As a result, her World Number 1 tag is under threat and she needs to find her winning mojo back if she wants to stay at the top of the WTA rankings.
