Coco Gauff turned her season around as the WTA 500 in Washington rolled around. She managed to improve her tennis by adding two new members to her team, Pere Riba and Brad Gilbert. The two coaches helped her to her first 500, Masters and Slam. However, the dream team is about to come to an end, as Riba recently announced his departure from Gauff’s team.

The announcement comes at a time when Gauff is facing a difficult opponent. She faced Iga Swiatek in the second round of the WTA Finals and couldn’t go the extra mile to beat her opponent, even with Riba as her coach.

When Riba became the primary coach of Gauff before Wimbledon, there was much speculation about his impact on the star. However, after Wimbledon, people believed nothing had changed. But that mindset would change quickly as Gauff would win three tournaments after the grand slam. But their partnership is now coming to an end, as announced by Riba on his Instagram page.

He first said that they would not continue their partnership in 2024, but he chose to focus on the positives of 2023. The Spanish coach also said that they are splitting due to personal and health reasons on Riba’s side. Therefore, there is no bad blood between them.
