Ash Barty Reigns Supreme in Her ‘Favorite Sport’ Post Retirement From Tennis

Ash Barty, the Australian tennis professional, made an announcement almost a fortnight ago that she will no longer be playing tennis. Although she has marked the end of her tennis career, there is much more that she is capable of.

Barty has an outstanding record in tennis. However, tennis isn’t the only sport she invests her time in. She has a liking for many sports, such as cricket and golf and not to forget she is pretty good at all of them as well. Barty claimed in an interview post her retirement that she will channel her focus on other things. Evidently, she is keeping her words.

Ash Barty Has Started Her New Journey

Barty has made a comeback, but this time it’s on the golf course. Instead of swinging a tennis racquet, she will now swing a golf stick. Multi-talented Barty has made a stunning entry into golf following her retirement from tennis. She has won the ladies’ golf championship at Brookwater Golf and Country club.

Post her Brookwater’s victory, Barty said. “My win made a lot of noise in the media but it was a bit blown out. I was like, Come on guys. I’ve played a bit of golf. Just chill out a little bit.” The 25-year-old has showcased some impressive skills in Brookwater on a course designed by Greg Norman. Barty secured the ladies’ competition with a round of 34 points.

Barty’s Accomplishments

Ash Barty has accomplished so much at just the age of 25. The Australian has held the ranking of World No.1 for a record 121 weeks. She has also been a part of top 10 of the doubles list with a career-high ranking of 5. Adding to that, Barty has three Grand Slam titles under her name and in totality 15 singles and 12 doubles titles. Further, she has also won Australia a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.

Barty is currently enjoying golf, although she also has the potential of doing great in other sports as well, especially cricket. She has already proven her prowess in cricket as well when she performed really well in the inaugural women’s Big bash league in the 2014-15 season during her break from tennis.
