Ashleigh Barty Jumps Into a Whole New Sport Following Her Tennis Retirement at the Age of 25

Former world no. 1 Ashleigh Barty has bid farewell to tennis. The world was taken by a storm because of her abrupt announcement of retirement when she was at the peak of their career. Ashleigh Barty was speculated to try her hand either at cricket or golf. She had recently made her plans public about releasing a children’s book.

Now, the player is moving a step ahead and is going to play professional golf.

Ashleigh Barty had played in Stuttgart a year before and had won it. She defeated Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Barty won her last grand slam at the Australian Open in her home country in 2022. She then announced her retirement and recently decide to publish a children’s book called ‘Little Ash’. She played a local golf tournament before announcing that she would play a professional golf tournament.

The 25-year-old Australian has been included in Ernie Els’ Rest of the World team for the Icons Series event at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey, on June 30 and July 1. Barty recently won the ladies’ competition at her home club Brookwater, near Brisbane.

She has been actively playing golf after retiring from tennis. She used to play when she was playing tennis professionally too.

Ashleigh Barty’s early retirement shocked people, but her fans knew she will not settle so soon. She had stated that she had done whatever she could do for tennis and did not have anything more to contribute to the sport. However, we can see she has a lot more to contribute to the other sport. The player, as we all know, is proving to be an asset to not just tennis but also other sport.
