Veteran tennis superstar Serena Williams has voiced her wish to meet actor Robert Downey Jr. in response to a question about the one person she hasn’t met as yet and would want to, during an interaction with reporters after sailing into the 2nd round of the Australian Open.

A superwoman herself, ably devoting time to her tennis and her 3-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia, the 39-year-old Serena said she is a huge fan of Marvel comics and the ‘Iron Man’.

“I haven’t met Robert Downey Jr. And I love Marvel and the ‘Iron Man’,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion said.
The American was just as cool and effective as her favorite superhero at Melbourne Park on Wednesday as she battled past a gritty opponent in Nina Stojanovic.
Speaking courtside after the win, Serena said she was challenged by the Serb throughout the match and had to work hard to win games against her.
Even as the score-line would suggest otherwise, the Serb did look to stay in the contest in the opening games and made Serena labor to win the first set 6-3.

In the next set, however, the 39-year-old American found her range and dished out brutal tennis to pummel her opponent into submission. The match was eventually decided 6-3, 6-0 in Serena’s favor.

However, despite going down in straight sets, the Serb did win wholesome praise from the veteran for her performance.
The American will now butt heads with young Russian tennis star Anastasia Potapova in the 3rd round.

Serena is desperate to end her wait for a record 24th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open that will put her alongside the great Margaret Court as the joint holder of most Grand Slam trophies across the men’s and women’s fields.
