Osaka, too, didn’t have to struggle much to get to the fourth round at the Australian Open this year. The 23-year-old has been consistent with her game with her recent victory coming against #27 seed Ons Jabeur.

Furthermore, the 2019 Australian Open champion is highly anticipating her match against Muguruza as she considers the Spaniard to be a ‘bigger sister’.

Both Osaka and Muguruza have been to the Finals of the Australian Open before, but they are contrasting tales as Osaka won the championship in 2019, while Muguruza suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Sofia Kenin in 2020.
