The women’s singles division at the Australian Open 2021 is hurtling towards an exciting end, and we already have a few mighty clashes in the fourth round to look forward to. One of them is between two extremely talented athletes in Garbine Muguruza and Naomi Osaka.

Both Osaka and Muguruza have been to the Finals of the Australian Open before, but they are contrasting tales as Osaka won the championship in 2019, while Muguruza suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Sofia Kenin in 2020.

It’s hard to pick a winner for this clash as Osaka and Muguruza are quite congruent. Getting into an early rhythm for the match would be vital for either athlete. Osaka is in tremendous form and so is Muguruza. 

However, Osaka is the favorite to win this match due to her consistent run of form. The form that she has been bolstering ever since the US Open 2020. We predict Naomi Osaka to defeat Garbine Muguruza in three sets.
