Asked about her feeling on reaching the first Grand Slam final, Danielle Collins said, “It feels amazing. I mean it’s been such a journey and it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s so many years of hard work and hours at an early age on court.”

Danielle Collins entered the Grand Slam down under as her first tournament this season. However, she took little time to settle in as she was looking in fine touch, dispatching her opponents easily in the opening two rounds.
She was stretched to three sets in the third and fourth-round matches against Clara Tauson of Denmark and Elise Mertens of Belgium, respectively. Next up, her quarterfinal and semifinal matches were straightforward victories as she overcame her opponents in straight sets.
