Whether it’s her jaw-dropping moves on the court or her witty charm off of it, the American sensation never fails to keep her fans hooked. And this time, she’s taking her off-court antics to a whole new level. Guess what? Coco has decided to channel her inner Spider-Man, the superhero she absolutely adores! Talk about a tennis star who truly does it all!
The American tennis sensation has reached Melbourne after an electrifying campaign at the United Cup. Gauff kept her team in the tournament throughout and ensured the title for Team USA. Now, she has begun her preparations for the Australian Open where she will be facing Sofia Kenin in the first round. But besides Gauff’s professional endeavors, there is something else that is capturing the limelight, and it is Gauff imitating Spider-Man!
In a video posted by the official TikTok account of the Australian Open, Gauff was seen spending some much-needed time in the Gym. However, she ensured to amalgamate her training sessions with her love for Spider-Man and was seen performing the Web-slinger. This also left her trainer in splits, who was seen bursting into laughter over Gauff’s actions. The video was accompanied by the caption “This universe’s spiderman,” with Gauff being tagged on it. Remember, the American star has often highlighted how much she admires the Marvel superhero, turning into a fangirl time and again.

In an Instagram story she shared in October 2023, Coco Gauff showcased her collection of Spider-Man-themed merchandise. From several soft toys to a magazine, Gauff’s collection spoke volumes of her love for the superhero. Captioning the story back then, she cheekily wrote, “I bet you can’t guess who my favorite hero is.” In yet another interview with a young influencer, on Her Way Her Story, the young American tennis star revealed she does not just admire Spider-Man but also relate to it.
“I guess in a very figurative way, and Spider-Man himself is a teenager, does big things. And I’m a teenager who’s trying to do big things and I just feel I can relate to him a lot,” Gauff said. But for now, Gauff seems to be quite determined for her Australian Open campaign. And guess what? She is entering the tournament with the utmost confidence.

Coco Gauff finished her 2024 season with complete dominance winning the titles in the China Open and the WTA Finals in Riyadh. Besides, she finished as the World No. 3, defeating some top players like Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka. Now, as she gears up for the first Australian Open, Gauff is beaming with confidence for her campaign in Melbourne.
Speaking after her run at the United Cup, the American star said, “Obviously this start of the season gives me a lot of confidence. I feel like when I’m playing confident tennis, I’m playing great tennis. I definitely feel confident going into AO.” In yet another interview, she made her aspirations clear and said, “I think for all of us the main focus is the Australian Open and doing well there.” However, the 20-year-old is not willing to set up any unrealistic goals for herself for the 2025 season.

“I’ve never been a person who thinks about the ranking. I only want the Slams, but yes, I know I have this possibility. But honestly, I don’t think about the number 1 of the WTA ranking,” said the star player ahead of her season. Now, as the tournament unfolds, it will be interesting to see how fruitful it turns out for Coco Gauff and if she manages to add yet another title to her glorious crown.
